I'm Lauran Weinmann. My interest in decorating started early—I have fond memories of ordering a royal blue shag rug for my teenage bedroom and then finding the perfect chenille bedspread to match. 
 
My background includes five years working for an interior decorating firm, where I staged homes for sale, sourced paint colors and decor items for clients, and wrote our blog. I loved every minute of it, and I was good at it. Then I founded a non-profit art studio that provided after-school art classes for under-served kids in Oakland. Throughout these creative endeavors I learned about color, space planning, styling, buying and hanging artwork, and all the layers that make a space sing.
